Very Rare Russo Japanese War Cruiser Yakumo Navy Sake Cup

This is an antique Japanese navy sake cup, decorated with a big anchor and some cherry blossoms, and the words « Russia Conquest Victorious Return Commemoration ». The words on the back are « Warship Yakumo » and the sailor’s name Nisato. It’s rare enough to have named ships for cups, but much more so for ones that are involved in active military combat for the events named – and this is definitely case with the Yakumo here, then a fairly new cruiser, which participated in all the major naval battles of the Russo Japanese war. This includes the Siege of Port Arthur, Battle of Yellow Sea, and Battle of Tsushima. 

Condition: Excellent – very light fading of the gold
