Very Rare Antique Japanese Military WW1 Siberia Dispatch Cavalry Carrier Pigeon Unit Army Sake Cup

This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a bird in the center and the words « European Great War Siberia Dispatch Commemoration » and the soldier’s name Amari. On the back are the words « Takada Cavalry 17th Regiment Military Use Pigeon Company » and a star in the center. This is an extremely rare cup for a carrier pigeon unit used for communications in WW1 – Siberia refers to Japan’s involvement in the area after the Bolshevik revolution.

Condition: Excellent – light fading of the tail of the bird
